If you use a wheelchair or scooter to get around, then you know that comfort is key. If your chair isn't comfortable, it can be difficult to get around and enjoy your day-to-day life. That's why we've put together this list of different products from Build My Wheelchair that can improve your comfort level while using your wheelchair or scooter!

Cushions

First up on the list is the Stealth Solution SPP Wheelchair Cushion. The Stealth Solution skin protection and positioning cushion is constructed of a twin-cell, aqueous gel insert for pressure reduction and comfort. It's made with a high-density moulded foam that contours to your body and redistributes weight away from areas prone to skin deterioration.

Next on the list is the Permobil Ergo Air Cushion. This is an ergonomic positioning cushion that is contoured to provide pelvic stability and improved lower extremity alignment. The specially-designed ROHO insert uses patented Dry Flotation Technology to prevent pressure injuries (commonly called pressure sores) that can be a serious health threat for people who spend much of their days in wheelchairs.

Last but not least is the Stealth Spectrum Gel SPP Wheelchair Cushion. The Stealth Spectrum Gel skin protection and positioning cushion provides moderate to specialized positioning options, easy storage, and Coolcore® chemical-free cover technology, which keeps contact skin temperature comfortable and consistent throughout the seasons. The pelvis is kept in an optimal centralized position with the help of high density moulded foam and a variety of relief cuts and toppers.

Wheelchair Accessories

There are also a few wheelchair accessories that can help improve your comfort while using your wheelchair. First, there's the JAY J3 Backrest collection. Available in posterior, posterior deep, posterior lateral, posterior deep lateral, and posterior deep contour options. These backrests provides support and comfort to your back, and it's made with a breathable mesh material that helps keep you cool.

Next, there's the Comfort Company Molded Foot Support. This footrest provides support and comfort to your feet, and it's made with a high-density foam that contours to your body.

In addition to foot support, Comfort Company offers arm support in lateral arm roll or flat arm rest varieties. Both products attach easily to most wheelchairs and provide extra comfort for your arms.

Last but not least is the Whitmyer Specialty Plush Headrest. This headrest provides support and comfort to your head and neck, and it's made with a plush fabric that is soft to the touch.

This headrest includes the Adjust-a-PLUSH Head Support System which is designed for use with clients who exhibit poor head control and require lateral support on at least one side to maintain an upright head posture. It assists in controlling passive and active lateral cervical flexion and features two tapered locking joints that can be narrowed or widened to provide maximum lateral support.
