Permobil ICS Switchbox
The ICS Switchbox provides 8 - 1/8" mono jacks to allow up to 8 momentary switches to control seat functions. This is required when the standard control panel is inaccessible from various seat positions due to weakness, limited range of motion, or strength. A separate switch can be connected to the ICS Alternative Switchbox to provide access for the user to operate power seat functions within their individual motor limitations.
The seat’s powered functions may be controlled from the drive system control panel. On seats equipped with the control system ICS, the powered functions may also be controlled from the ICS control panel. The seat’s powered functions are controlled from the control panel. The control system may be in the form of push buttons or toggle switches for those users who find them easier to maneuver. Move the toggle switch forward to operate the front button and back to
operate the rear button. The button box functions described here apply to conventional push buttons, but the functions are the same regardless of control system design. Each switch location can have two functions, and the symbol for the active function is lit. Change functions with the shift function.- The electrical functions in the seat can be programmed for multiple movements, e.g. from recumbent to standing in a suitably controlled movement.
- Memory functions which store your favorite positions and mean you can resume these with a single press of a button.
- The system detects various seat positions and is able to adapt driving performance and safety accordingly.
- The seat’s possible movements are continuously monitored and determined on the basis of the chair’s current settings and status.
- Different functions can be controlled with several types of control unit, e.g. button box, joystick or individual buttons. The system can also handle several different control units simultaneously.
- The need for mechanical switches for limiting movements and driving has been minimized, resulting in improved operating reliability.
- Improved information direct to the user on the display regarding the functions available and how they will affect the chair’s performance.
The ICS can be moved and attached to another part of your wheelchair for easier access if you are unable to operate the functions on the main joystick controller.
There is also the option to set and save three positions with the pre-programmed modes. This is great if you have a favourite position for during the day, or a more relaxed position for watching TV or one for getting in/out of your wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV).
It’s completely up to you and can be changed to suit your changing needs.
